The Windows 2000, Windows 98 SE and Windows ME directly support the IEEE 1394 device. It does not need to install any driver for your IEEE 1394 device
At Windows 98 SE, you need to install a Safe Removal utility that allows you to safely stop a Plug and Play storage device prior to physically unplugging the device. This component also includes an update for 1394 drivers to resolve issues related to the surprise removal of peripheral devices. Large performance improvements, in the order of 300%, have been made over the implementation of 1394 storage drivers in Windows 98 Second Edition.

For WINDOWS, hot swapping is allowable with more limits. To avoid system failure, always follow the bellow steps to hot UN-PLUG your 1394 device in Windows,
1 Click on the ¡§Unplug or ejector hardware¡¨ indicator on the task bar.

2 Click on the command bar ¡§Stop IEEE 1394 Disk-Drive(F:)¡¨ to stop the device your want to remove.

3 When the screen prompts, read the instruction carefully. If the system prompts you not to remove the device, DO NOT remove the device. You should exit the present program which access the your 1394 device and return to Step 1.

Please insert the driver CD in to the CD-ROM, the following icon would appear

Please double click on the icon and the following window would appear, then double click on the 1394 folder.

Find the
installer icon in the folder 1394\MAC of installation CD

Double click on
the installer icon to install the drivers.

After you click on the driver you want to installation, the message would appear, please click on the "Install" to start the installation.

The driver would install automatically, at the installation successful message would appear. Click on ¡§Quit¡¨ to finish the device installation.

At MAC OS 9.0 or
later, user does not need to install any driver for the device. Plug the 1394
cable into you MAC, Slide the media into the device (Ex. CD or MO). The system
will recognize the 1394 device and display the drive icon on the Screen.

notice for Mac users
Before removing
the media from the Device or unplug the Device from your MAC computer, you must
drag and drop the drive icon into trashcan.
